SDSU Testing Services provides proctoring services for a wide variety of tests and certifications, as well as for candidates testing through various testing companies.

Distance Learning Proctoring Service

  • Paper- and computer-based proctoring services for students participating in distance learning and correspondence degree programs, professionals needing certification, and others needing to have an examination proctored remotely.

Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS)

  • For students applying for admission to Nursing and Allied Health Programs.
  • Appointments must be made via phone (619-594-5216) or email ([email protected]); walk-ins are not accepted. Appointments are made no earlier than approximately a month out.

College Level Examination Program (CLEP)

  • Testing for the College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) is offered at San Diego State University for SDSU students and applicants, the greater San Diego community, and active-duty military (through the DANTES Program).
  • Appointments must be made via phone (619-594-5216) or email ([email protected]); walk-ins are not accepted. Appointments are made no earlier than approximately a month out. Please be aware that Saturdays fill quickly.

DSST Get College Credit Exams

  • Testing for DSST Get College Credit exams (formerly known as DANTES Subject Standardized Test) is offered at SDSU Testing Services to the greater San Diego community, including active military and their dependents.
  • Appointments must be made via phone (619-594-5216) or email ([email protected]); walk-ins are not accepted. Appointments are made no earlier than approximately a month out. Please be aware that Saturdays fill quickly.

Graduate Record Examination (GRE)

  • SDSU Testing Services administers the GRE year round.  The exam is offered at 8:00am and 1:00pm on select dates.  
  • All registration is done through the ETS GRE website.
  • Please contact Testing Services at 619-594-5216 or [email protected] for additional information.  
  • The GRE is an examination used for admission to graduate school.  

PRAXIS Series

  • SDSU Testing Services administers the PRAXIS exams year round.  The exam is offered at 8:00am on select dates.  (Starting January 3, 2023, the PRAXIS exam will be offered at 10:00am on select dates instead of 8:00am.)
  • All registration is done through the ETS PRAXIS website.
  • Please contact Testing Services at 619-594-5216 or [email protected] for additional information.
  • The PRAXIS measures academic skills and subject-specific content knowledge needed for teaching.  

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

  • SDSU Testing Services administers the TOEFL exam year round.  The exam is offered at 8:00am on select dates. 
  • All registration is done through the ETS TOEFL website.
  • Please contact Testing Services at 619-594-5216 or [email protected] for additional information.
  • The TOEFL is an admissions test for students whose first language is other than English.  Some test candidates are required to take the TOEFL for employment opportunities.

  • SDSU Testing Services provides proctoring services for candidates using commercial testing companies, including ETS, ISO Quality Testing, Kryterion, Meazure (formerly Scantron), Prov Inc. and PSI.
